A selection of the best entries will be shown during the festival on large screens of our main sponsor Panasonic.

The awarding of the best multimedia production, whose author gets the Lumix Multimedia Award including 5,000 euros, takes place together with the FreeLens Award ceremony at the final party on Saturday, June 19, 2010.

Please consider that you have to upload/embed your multimedia production within 5 days after the registration.

    competition rules

Young photographers up to the age of 35 (at the time of the applicantion) may participate in the competition for the Lumix Multimedia Award.

Each participant may submit one multimedia production of clearly journalistic character. It is allowed that several individuals worked on the final product but it shall mirror the authorship of the photographer who is applying. The works may already be published or awarded at other festivals, but this is not a requirement at all.

The productions with a length of up to 10 minutes must base upon photographies. Other visual elements like film, (animated) graphics and text may however also be used. If the submission uses another language than German or English, it should be subtitled in one of these languages.

Applications are accepted between December 21st 2009 and February 28th 2010. During this time the online registration form is activated. After the registration the participants have up to 5 days to upload their work and make it accessible online.

The participants are free to choose whether they want to enter with a video file or a soundslides folder. Videos have to be uploaded onto the video forum vimeo (password protection is possible). In this case you only need to include the embed code from vimeo in the application for the Lumix Multimedia Award. Alternatively, applicants may also embed a video file in FLV, MP4 or MOV format via an URL from their own webspace. Submissions mustn’t be altered after the entry deadline.
Soundslides presentations may be uploaded onto our server.

All works must have a resolution between 800×600 at least and 1920×1080 pixels at most, as a selection of the best submissions will be shown during the festival on large panasonic screens. During the weeks following to the deadline, applicants will be informed whether their work is chosen for the festival.

The jury will choose one winning production. The winner of the Lumix Multimedia Award will receive a prize money of 5,000 €. The award ceremony of the Lumix Multimedia Award will take place together with the FreeLens-Award at the closing event of the festival on saturday June 19th 2010. The decision of the jury is legally binding.

With the online registration, the applicants confirm that they possess the submitted works and their rights of use and that the works are free of rights of third parties.
Extracts of the winning and featured works may be used for the Festival for Young Photojournalism, news coverage about the festival and its journalistic review. The participants may not claim royalty payment.
