    Compared to the old model (Nikon D300), Nikon D300S brings the following new features:

    -Thanks to the new dedicated INFO button you can access the setting and the menu using only your right hand.

    - Two Card Slots  – one compact Flash (CF) and one SD/SDHC

    - A faster shooting speed: 7fps (frames per second)

    - Movie clips: you can record HD video clips at 1280 x 720, 640 x 480, 320 x 240 pixels, 24 fps

    - Quiet mode – when you release the shutter button, the mirror return phase is accessed

    - Wider illumination coverage - the pop-up flash goes up to the 16 mm

    - “Auto” setting for Active D-Lighting - the appropriate strength based on the scene being photographed is automatically set.

    - Faster AF – according to the D300S owners, the camera has much faster initial focus acquisition and tracking.
